Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Bangalore
Project Brief
Rainbow Children's Hospital in Sarjapur, Bangalore, feels less like a typical medical building and more like a place of comfort and hope. As an architect, what stands out is how thoughtfully it’s designed for the emotional world of children and their families. Light pours into the spaces, soft colors ease tension, and playful touches help kids feel at ease—even in difficult moments. Behind the scenes, it’s a highly efficient hospital, but to those walking its halls, it feels warm, safe, and human. It’s a space where care isn’t just clinical—it’s deeply felt.

“Great care begins with great space.”
Light, colour and clarity as tools for healing.
Designovate’s strategy for the Sarjapur Road project centres on clarity of flow, patient & family experience, and dual program coherence. Public and private zones are carefully segregated so women’s maternity, obstetric, and neonatal services have independent yet connected access. Paediatric wards, critical care, support spaces are arranged for efficient movement of staff and patients. Natural light, comforting colour palettes, gesture of arrival, waiting areas that reduce anxiety and enhance orientation are primary design levers.
